Our Story

James Hill arrived with his brother at the beginning of the 19th Century. James settled and established a home in Anderson County near Mt. Hebron Primitive Baptist Church on Hinds Creek.
He married Mary Clayton and one of their 10 children, Marvel Hill born in 1802, was the first direct ancestor of the current Hill family.
Marvel married Milly Cox in 1824 and they settled onto Bull Run Creek near the site of the Hill Cemetery on a spread that covered 1,000 acres. Some of the Hill family still reside on that same tract of land. Hill Road was named after him, as was a small community school that sprang up in the area.
Marvel and Milly had 13 children and that brings us through to today and who still gather for the Hill Family Reunions.
